DOL NEAR LJUBLJANA HOUSING AREA

The new settlement is located at the eastern part of Ljubljana basin, between Sava River and north of Ljubljana – Litija road. The vicinity of important traffic connections offers a quick access to Ljubljana city centre, by car or public transport. All necessary infrastructure is located close to the settlement, from medical services and smaller shops for daily needs supply to day care and school which are 1km away from the settlement. The location reveals a wonderful view on the surrounding forests and meadows and is excellent for relaxation in a peaceful green environment.

Three types of houses of simple design and modern appearance form the settlement along with altogether 45 apartment units which vary in ground plan size and quality of used materials. Each apartment unit has an atrium and in front of the unit there we have predicted a parking area made from porous paving stone.

A footpath will lead through the settlement from the forest to the pond and it will also link the park and playground with sandboxes and playground equipment. The architectural design will enable its residents to create community trust with good communication, relations and values and thus form a settlement where they can feel at home.
